Connected Citizens Summit
May 31, 2017 | Berlin

With major upcoming elections in France and Germany, the ever-increasing cybersecurity threat, and the battle against fake news, are the risks of connectivity worth the reward? From intelligent transport and energy networks to ingenious IoT, ICT and 5G, 2017 is guaranteed to shake up the connected future. How can we make the most of connectivity to create jobs, spur economic recovery and growth, and ensure the safety and security of Europeans?

The  2017  Connected  Citizens  Summit will travel to Berlin, a city that has become a European beacon of innovation.

Interconnected, instrumented, and intelligent, the Internet of Things is the fabric of connectivity. A breeding ground for innovation and social progress, the connected objects of everyday life pose a plethora of possibilities and a wealth of nightmares. Unanticipated threats and security risks are constantly emerging. Seduced by the promises of intelligent connectivity, businesses and governments are at the heart of the IoT revolution, and – despite the risks – continue the plunge forward to create practical solutions to social challenges.

Co-hosted by POLITICO and WELT, the Connected Citizens Summit 2017 will bring nearly 150 industry leaders across major sectors together with key policymakers and influencers for an unparalleled conversation about mastering the power of connectivity.
